From New Hampshire, Aaron began at the age of ten. At 14 he was invited to participate in “Great Tap Reunion” at the Apollo theater along with tap legends like Derick Grant, Savion Glover and Gregory Hines, as well as the rest of the cast of the film TAP. That same year Aaron joined the team at his high school. Throughout his four-year career in high school, Aaron set all school records for each event he competed in, including the 55 and 300 meters and the free 100 and 200 meter free events. His times made him qualify to compete in the year of 1992 in U.S Olympic Trials and won his induction to the Memorial of the school and Manchester, NY Halls of Fame. He also won a full scholarship to St. John’s University, where he once again won records, some of which remain to this day. In 1996, he was invited to compete in U.S Oplympic Trials. When he was not studying, he was in Manhattan honing his tap skills.
During his senior year he successfully auditioned at the Tap dance for the New Yor Shakespeare festival, also getting to know the Funk. Soon Aaron became a member of the Manhattan Tap Company and worked on the Tap Dogs show, in Jumping Feet in the choreography. He got a job with Absolut on a national tour called Absolut Tap. Soon after, Aaron agreed to work on the national and international tours of the Riverdance company. He was a soloist and captain of the tap dancers for six years as he did on Broadway and Radio City Musical Hall, in several television shows, in NBA games and on stages around the world.
In 2006, Aaron began working with his friend Derick Grant on Imagine Tap, a Chicago-based show whose line-up would become the subject of a full-length documentary, titled Tap or Die. As a faculty member at the Boston Conservatory and Plymouth State University, Aaron choreographed, produced and directed “Something to Tap About,” “Tapped,” “Tapped in and Inspired,” all with artists from their own ensemble. England Tap Ensemble “. Aaron formed the New England Tap Ensemble, a nonprofit organization in May 2007 to promote the art of Tap in the community. From montana to Moscow, Aaron has participated and taught at a number of festivals including L.A Tap Festival, Chicago Juman Rhythm Project, Beantown Tap Fest, Tap Unides, Tampa Bay Tap Festival, Tap Kids Brazil International Tap Festival and FeetxFeet. Others including Brookline Chorus’ Duke Ellington Sacred Concert, The Late Show with Liam O’Conner in Ireland and Drosselmeyer at Clara’s Dream on A Jazz Nutcracker.
Aaron is currently in a faculty at Broadway Dance Center and Peridance Capezio Center in New York, being the director of Tap2You, and of all tap competitions. He is also the national spokesperson for SoDanca and director of Speaking In Taps, a preprofessional youth company. Body & Sole Fitness, is the latest Project by Aaron where you can share your love of Tap with people who do not dance while exercising while staying healthy at the same time.
